Continental Knitting

Page history last edited by Suzanne Ress 14 years, 3 months ago

SESSION TOPICS

Learn how to "pick" your stitches, holding the yarn in your left hand.  Using the continental knitting style can make using knit/purl stitch patterns easier.  Class will cover how to hold the needles, tension the yarn in your left hand, how to pick your stitches, how to knit and how to purl.

This session will be useful if you want to learn stranded knitting techniques.

There will both a Saturday morning and Sunday morning session for this topic.

Limited to 5 people.  Bring needles and yarn.

Can you teach an old dog new tricks? I am a hopeless "thrower" who'd love to learn to "pick."

This would be great. I tried to teach myself, not too successful. My gauge is all over the place and I can't even imagine how I'd try to purl.

I'm interested! I feel so uncoordinated when I try continental.

I'm interested - I think I do a "sort of" continental style, but it's not correct and my hands get sore. I'd love to learn to do it correctly. :)

Is the 5-person limit a firm one? I would really like to be in this session!

if there is room, I'd love to try. One of my resolutions this year is to learn to knit faster and I think this may be the only way
