Intuitive Sock Heels

Page history last edited by RebeccaHatcher 14 years, 3 months ago

Full Description

Written directions for the basic types of sock heel (short row and top-down flap heels), make them seem more complicated and intimidating than they need to be.  I'll explain the anatomy of these two types of heel, and show you how to knit them on the fly, without specific directions, on any number of stitches.

Skills Needed

Basic circular knitting skills (double pointed needles, 1 circ or 2 circs--it doesn't matter)

Materials Needed

If you have a sock that's ready for a heel, bring it along.  Or if you'd like to practice on a sample, cast on using your favorite circular technique, knit a few rounds, and bring that.

hey, this is awesome! I hate knitting a sock from a pattern - there just doesn't seem to be a need for it! - and love to work like this.

I like the sound of this and plan to attend, schedule permitting.
