QUESTIONS

Day-Of questions:

How do you get to the Arsenal Arts Center on the T from Boston/Cambridge? [Guido Stein]

You can take the bus, 70 and 70A run from Central Square Cambridge to the Arsenal mall. Take the stop just after the Best Buy stop, cross the street and walk on another block to the entrance.

Is there a place to leave our stuff "safely" ( i.e., a locked room, etc)?

There is no locked room, but the entire center is only for FiberCamp and you can probably leave stuff in the theater pretty safely.

Venue/Scheduling questions:

I noticed another workshop leader signed onto a space & tme, I just did the same, I have some time/light limitations. Is this OK?

Sure... At this point I think it's ok to put up when you would like to have a class. The organizers will try to put these up on the schedule baord accordingly.

If you offered to teach a workshop, how do you know when it will take place, IF it will take place  and where do you request choice of room?

If you offered to teach a workshop, it will take place assuming there are attendees interested in taking the workshop. Since there is no formal sign-up procedure you can get an idea about this if anyone has commented to your workshop page on the wiki. As far as where and when, these things are decided the morning of the event, when the workshop coordinators visit the scheduling board and select their time slots and locations. These may shuffle on the fly as needed.

When you say workshop coordinators, you mean...who? The folks offering to teach the workshops  or someone designated to get the ball rolling the morning of the 9th that everyone checks in with?

I was referring to the individual leaders of the various workshops. There will be someone at the board to assist but there is nobody strictly "in charge"

Will there be digital projectors available to those teaching, so we can hook up our laptops to present images/PowerPoints/whatever?

There are projectors in a couple of the rooms but we will be working to provide others. If you have a projector you can bring, please do so -- we aren't certain we will have projectors for all rooms yet.

For those of us who need to carpool or who are bringing gear specific to a workshop we are running, is there a way to arrange rides via the Wiki, and/or pick a workshop time prior to the day-of so we can coordinate rides and equipment set-up?

I have just set up a Ride Board link from the main page of the wiki.

For the many of us new to the concept of Open Source Unconferencing will someone send out an email to all registered  explaining that it is important to comment on which workshops you want to attend, so the folks offering to teach them should know how to prepare?

Done

Is there Wifi in the Fiber Camp Boston venue?

Guido has assured us that he will be bringing wireless routers so that wireless will be available at least in the main areas.

General Question

Am I asking these questions in the right place?

Yes!

Is there food available at the Arsenal Arts Center or do we need to bring our own? How about coffee?

There is a Panera Bread directly next door; there are also a couple of restaurants nearby in walking distance, plus the food court at the Arsenal Mall a little further down the street.

If I'm willing to offer a new session (Intro to Lace), do I jsut add it to the list of sessions being offered? Or do I list it under "Session Topics: Comments" (which I already did)?

How can one sign up for a specific session ?
Or does one need to arrive early and hope to get in that session?
