Full Description
Galina from http://www.skaska.com/ teaches this traditional technique that has been used for hundreds of years to join two live ends together without using a third needle or extra yarn. The result is a nearly undetectable "zippering" of the two pieces, and was developed so the Orenburg lace knitters could join corners of their square cashmere shawls without "wasting" additional resourced.
Skills Needed
Intermediate to advanced knitter
Materials Needed
two swatches of similar weight yarn (different colors would be best, but not necessary)
pair of knitting needles
Knit both swatches using the same pair of needles. Place the first swatch onto a stitch holder or waste yarn while knitting the second swatch.

I'm interested in this time permitting. I like to knit lace and sometimes it's a little hard to deal with the ends.
